How To Unlock Nintendo Wii – Two Ways To Unlock Nintendo Wii
So you probably heard of some people you know who managed to unlock Nintendo Wii or heard about the cool benefits of having an unlocked Wii. If you unlock Nintendo Wii you will be able to play old school console games, make backups of your games, and even watch dvds. This article will give you a few methods how to unlock your Wii.
Before we get started I must warn you the first way will void your system warranty. First you have to get a mod chip installed in your Wii. Installing a mod chip to unlock Nintendo Wii isn’t easy if you don’t know what you are doing. You can permanently damage your Wii and you will most certainly void the systems warranty. Once you get your mod chip installed you will have to download a new bios and install it in your Wii. You will have to look around for a bios compatible with your mod chip but if you look well enough you will find one.
The next way to unlocking Wii is a little less intrusive and it won’t void your system warranty, but its no walk in the park. You have to install an open source software on your Wii called Homebrew channel. Homebrew is a term given to video games and applications produced by consumers. Lets say you make a game that can be played on your Wii. That would be considered a homebrew game. Once you get the Homebrew Channel, you will be able to launch homebrew games and programs that allow you to unlock Nintendo Wii features. There are homebrew applications that allow you to play dvds, copy/backup games, and emulators to play old school games. You will only have to install Homebrew Channel once and you will not have to open your Nintendo Wii to install it.

Kolkata, Feb. 20 — The country will have to wait for at least one more year to know the number of Royal Bengal Tigers in the Sunderbans – the largest tiger habitat in India. The project envisages tiger census through DNA sampling of the tigers' droppings, a maiden application of the technology. The state forest department has decided to extend the time for collection of droppings for authenticity's sake. “It won't be possible to collect tiger scat (droppings) within 10 to 15 days. During the next one year, forest officials would collect scats and send them to Hyderabad for testing. After a year, we should be able to give a figure close to the actual number,” Sunderbans Biosphere Reserve director Pradeep Vyas told Hindustan Times. The last tiger census report, released by government in 2008, put tiger population in India at 1,411, a 61 per cent drop from the 2001-02 figure of 3,642. But the shrinking population didn't include the tigers of the Sunderbans for lack of authentic figures. Pending the DNA method, an interim study will be done employing the 'All India Tiger, Co-predator, Prey and Habitat Monitoring' method with a few modifications. It may be carried out between March 4 and 8. Acoording to the 2004 tiger census, the number of big cats in the Indian part of Sundarbans was around 274. Out of these Sunderban Tiger Reserve had 249 and South 24-Parganas Forest Division had 25 tigers. That number was based on pugmark method of calculation. Analysing thost pugmark data, the Indian Statistical Institute (ISI) claimed in July 2006 there were only 75 tigers in the Sundarbans. The ISI report was trashed by the West Bengal government.
In 2006 tiger census, this new method was used in the Sunderbans, but the Wildlife Institute of India (WII) rejected it, terming the method archaic. This report was never made public.

How can I tell what Mod Chip is installed on my Wii?
I bought a Wii used and it had a chip installed. It was a D2C drive (I was told) and had a chip installed about 2 years ago with approx 40 solder points. There is no external switch or visible modification except that it can play backups of my originals.
